ICTP is inviting applications for a short-term Junior Researcher position in the research project Hydrogen-Bond Networks as Optical Probes (HyBOP) funded within the ERC framework. The project is led by Ali Hassanali of ICTP's Condensed Matter and Statistical Physics Section.
The Junior Researcher will be part of a highly interdisciplinary team developing atomistic models to study aqueous systems including bulk water under supercooled conditions, ions in water and at interfaces and pH induced hydrodynamic effects. The Junior Researcher will undertake research on studying the interactions between UV light and solid-water (Ice) as part of a new collaboration with Prof. Giulia Galli's group at the University of Chicago, while collaborating with ERC Postdoctoral Fellows currently at ICTP, to study the emission spectra of photoexcited water.
