ICTP is inviting applications for a two-year postdoctoral position (plus 1 year possible extension) in the research project Hydrogen-Bond Networks as Optical Probes (HyBOP) funded within the ERC framework. The project is led by Ali Hassanali of ICTP's Condensed Matter and Statistical Physics Section. The position is to start by the end of 2025.
The postdoctoral researchers will be part of a highly interdisciplinary team developing atomistic models to study aqueous systems including bulk water under supercooled conditions, ions in water and at interfaces and pH induced hydrodynamic effects. The postdoc will employ and expand techniques in machine-learning and data-science to tackle complex problems in solution chemistry working closely with experimentalists.
Scientists of any nationality with a strong research record. Candidates should have completed the PhD at the time of application.
The net monthly salary ranges between 2100–2,700 EUR depending on seniority. Benefits include a private health insurance, a pension contribution, special allowances for family members, competitive travel funds.
