ICTP is pleased to announce two sabbatical opportunities for scientists to visit ICTP:
ICTP-Simons Associates: The ICTP-Simons Associates programme will enable scientists at all stages of their careers to maintain long-term contacts with the stimulating and active scientific environment of the ICTP. ICTP Simons Associates will visit the ICTP for one to two months per year during the three-year period of their award. They may also bring a PhD or Masters student of their choice for each of the visits. For more details and to apply, visit the ICTP Simons Associates programme page. The application deadline is 1 July 2025.
ICTP-Simons Sabbaticals: The ICTP-Simons Sabbaticals programme offers scientists the opportunity to spend an extended period of six months at the ICTP. This residency allows researchers to fully dedicate themselves to their research work, free from the usual administrative and teaching responsibilities at their home institutions. In addition to fostering deep academic engagement, these extended visits also provide valuable opportunities for networking and collaboration. For more details and to apply, visit the ICTP-Simons Sabbaticals programme page. The application deadline is 1 July 2025
The two opportunities fall under the umbrella of ICTP's Associates Programme, which offers research opportunities for professional scientists based on regular visits to the Centre and joint research over 3 to 6 years, laboratory opportunities and participation in other ICTP activities, such are conferences and workshops. The Associates Programme is the key programme at ICTP to stem brain drain from developing countries.
