An image produced by ICTP scientists of computer-simulated molecules that could be used to build more efficient photovoltaics is featured on the cover of the latest issue of the Journal of Chemical Physics (Volume 132 Issue 10). The researchers--Prasenjit Ghosh, a post-doctoral fellow, and Ralph Gebauer of ICTP's Condensed Matter and Statistical Physics section--have simulated zinc tetraphenylporphyrin and C70 complex molecules that could be used to create nanostructured materials that more efficiently convert solar light into electricity.
