P.K. Shukla honoured

Professor Padma Kant Shukla, professor of physics at Ruhr-Universität-Bochum, Germany, has received multiple honours in 2009: the 2009 Kwarizmi International Award of the Iranian Research Organization for Science and Technology (IROST); a Doctor Honoris Causa degree from the Technical University of Lisbon; and election as Corresponding Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh. Professor Shukla has been associated with ICTP since the 1980s, and has directed ICTP training activities in plasma physics.
