Salam 100 logo In 2026, ICTP celebrates the centennial of its founder, Abdus Salam, who would have turned 100 on 29 January 2026.

Events will take place throughout the year to commemorate Salam's centennial and the indelible impact he made in theoretical physics, science in the developing world, and science diplomacy. These include:

29 January 2026	Panel Discussion, "Opportunities and Challenges of Quantum Science and Technology"
23 - 31 March 2026	Spring School on Superstring Theory/Dirac Medal 40th Anniversary
20 - 30 April 2026	ICTP-IBM School on Quantum Computing and Simulation and the awarding of the inaugural ICTP-IBM Richard Feynman Prize in Quantum Computing
7-10 May 2026	Scienza e Virgola / Trieste Maker Faire
4 June 2026	Staging of Play "The Trial of Abdus Salam", Teatro Miela, Trieste
