Ahmad Salam graduated from University College London as an Economist and then pursued a career as an investment banker.

He has worked for a number of banks including Rothschild's, Paribas and Credit Suisse. He currently runs his own financial advisory boutique. Mr. Salam has established 3 different regulated banks in the UK, including the first regulated Islamic Bank.

He has served on a number of boards including Aston Martin, Clive Christian, Urban Legacy, Inobat and IPM. Ahmad was a senior adviser to Meira GTX,  and is a Senior Adviser to Al Naimi Advisory.

He is currently a Senior Adviser at Meira, a listed US Life Sciences company and serves the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community UK, a charity, as a Trustee with specific responsibility for the Trade and Industry function. He is the Chairman of the Nobel Talent Fund: a UK charity set up by Abdus Salam with the proceeds from the 1979 Nobel Prize. He also serves as a Trustee of AMA UK, a UK charity and holds the Trade and Industry mandate for AMA.

He is a keen advocate for the humanitarian work his father was so committed to and has a particular place in his heart for ICTP. He initiated the Spirit of Salam Award at ICTP, and also the  Abdus Salam Postgraduate Prize at Imperial College.
