Federation Scheme »

Description

Federation Schemes are agreements signed by the ICTP and a scientific institute in developing countries. This enables the Institute to send junior scientists, up to the age of 40, to ICTP during the validity of the contract (three years) on a cost-sharing basis. The scheme gives an opportunity to junior scientists from developing countries to participate in the Centre's scientific programmes.

Who can apply

Scientific institutes from developing countries (to send junior scientists to ICTP)

Length of the programme

3 years; with total visiting time between 60 to 150 days

Associates Scheme »

Junior Associates

Description

Junior Associateships are intended for promising young scientists up to the age of 35. The Associateship Scheme enables individual scientists to maintain long term formal contacts with the stimulating and active scientific environment of the Centre.

Who can apply

Scientists up to age 35 from and working in developing countries.

Length of the programme

6-year appointment, during which associate visits ICTP three times for stays of between 35 and 70 days each

Description

Regular Associateships are 6-year awards intended exclusively for scientists from and working in developing countries.

Who can apply

Scientists aged between 36 and 45 from and working in developing countries

Length of the programme

6-year appointment, during which associate visits ICTP three times for stays of between 35 and 70 days each

Scientists from age 45 to 62 from and working in developing countries

6-year appointment; unlimited visits of up to 70 days each

Description

Group Association awards last 6 years and are given to a group of researchers working in developing countries and whose collaboration is well established and documented, preferably by joint publications.

Who can apply

Research Groups must be operating in developing countries and have people working and living in the same or in nearby institutes
