Honours for CMSP Scientist

ICTP Research Staff Associate Alexander A. Nersesyan has been elected as a full member of the National Academy of Sciences of Georgia. Nersesyan has been an ICTP staff associate since 1998. He has held visiting professorships at the Physikalisches Institut der Universitat Bonn and the Chalmers University of Technology, as well as serving as a senior visiting fellow at the University of Oxford. His research interests include Non-perturbative theoretical approaches to low-dimensional strongly correlated electron and spin systems (Conformal Field Theory, Bosonization) and Quantum criticalities in one-dimensional electron and spin systems. He earned a PhD in theoretical physics from Tbilisi State University.
