Biography:

Ms Grilli has been working in the Publications Office since 1987 when she was recruited. She was employed as a composition typist in the times of the electric typewriters using symbol balls for mathematical formulae. A few years later the preparation of scientific documents commenced with the computer using just plain tex. Nowadays, LaTeX and its programmes are used. During the years she has mastered many document publishing software, all self taught. In July 2002, she was assigned the responsibility of the section.

Responsibility:

Supervises and coordinates all services within the section. The Office is responsible for the preparation and publishing of ICTP's official scientific technical documents in the form of preprints, internal reports and Lecture Notes Series (LNS). Preprints and LNS have been placed on-line since 1995 for the benefit of the scientific community. They are also published on CD/DVD media.
The Office also takes care of the bulk dissemination of information on ICTP activities and programmes via hard copy and electronic format. The centralized mailing lists, and the Publications database management system are maintained by this office.
Ms Grilli is also responsible for the upgrading and correct functionality of the reproduction equipment on campus and for all the paper required.
She was assigned some webmaster-related tasks regarding the institutional web site in April 2004. Collaboration with the Science Dissemination Unit for the distribution of scientific material commenced in May 2004.
